In July, the National Collegiate Athletic Association -- NCAA -- issued a groundbreaking change to its rules regarding how college athletes make money. For the first time ever, athletes would be able to profit off their name, image and likeness.
The new policy paved the way for athletes to begin building a brand for themselves through sponsorships, endorsements, merchandise and more. At the University of Montana, the NCAA rules change has opened new doors for Freddy Brown III, a guard on the UM men's basketball team.
